Meet The Team

Jon Butler

Founder & Director

Jon is an experienced mining search consultant with a global network of senior industry professionals within major, mid-tier, junior and contracting companies.

He has successfully conducted and delivered mining recruitment and executive search mandates to a global client base across 21 jurisdictions spanning 6 separate continents.

Prior to founding Emerark, Jon established, grew, and managed the Perth office of a London based global mining recruitment firm.

Katrina Van Petegem

Administration Manager

Bringing over fifteen years of experience of general administration to the role from various sectors, Katrina is responsible for all operations, financial, IT, and data management.

She has general oversight of all working practices. Her main function is to ensure Emerark provides the best possible service for all stakeholders, internal or external.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Marketing from Otago University

Chanelle Smit

Search Consultant

Chanelle has worked in international mining search since 2018 and has placed candidates across 16 jurisdictions globally.

Her expertise spans the mining cycle end to end, from the early development stages through the project phase to operations staffing for billion-dollar mining projects and sites around the globe.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Western Australia
